Dicumarol is a competitive inhibitor of vitamin K epoxidereductase, thus, it inhibits vitamin K recycling and causes depletion of active vitamin K in blood. This prevents the formation of the active form of prothrombin and several other coagulant enzymes, and inhibits blood clotting. |
